Mother & Son

Meet Valerie and her son, Joe…

Valerie lives next door and her son, Joe, and my daughter, Allie, have become best buds. Such good buds, Allie is determined her and Joe will be getting married in the future, she’s just “waiting for a ring”. It’s cute… but scary how fast they grow up!
Valerie’s hubby, Dave, is currently deployed and won’t be back till June… she wanted to have some pictures taken of her and Joe to send to him. So we headed out east of Colorado Springs to where she boards her horse and had a blast playing around on the farm. It was a gorgeous March day, the sun was shining and we couldn’t have asked for better weather.
Joe looks incredibly handsome in his cowboy hat and Valerie always looks gorgeous! I look forward to doing a session with them once Dave returns this summer, so keep your eyes open for this cute family later this year!

Good Luck Marcus!

I took Marcus’ senior photos a few years ago, and boy does time fly! The thing I remember most about my photo shoot with Marcus, was what a wonderful heart he has.  He really is one of the most mature, well-spoken, kindest senior boys I have ever photographed and definitely one of my favorites! Since taking his photos way back when, I’ve also added on his sister Jessica’s beautiful family, including her adorable little girls Lexie and Gracie, to my list of favorite clients! The photo below/left is of Marcus and is sweet little niece Lexie.  What a lucky little girl she is, to have such a cool uncle!

Recently I received a call from Marcus and Jessica’s Mom, asking if I could pull off a last minute photo shoot, that would include the rest of the siblings as well. This photo session was particularly touching to me, because it was being done on account of Marcus’, and the fact that the next day he would be leaving for the Military for 5 years.
I can not put into words how loving this family is. Mom and Dad have been married for almost 30 years and have done such an amazing job raising such a caring and tight-nit family, something I think we all pray for with our own little families!  I know this photo shoot was particularly hard for them, knowing that Marcus was leaving the next day and it will be awhile before they get to hug him again.  But for all the sacrifices Marcus and his family will have to make in the next few years, I must take this moment to say “thank you” ! You are truly an amazing soul Marcus, and you will be in my thoughts and prayers as you train and become a part of something, that is set up to protect me and my family!

Everyday, and every time I have the opportunity to photograph and capture time, I truly realize the impact my job has and what an honor it is for me to document these moments. Please enjoy the slide show of the photo session below and send out a little thought or prayer for Marcus, his family and all other military personnel, that work so hard to keep our country safe!

The Beautiful “W” Family

I am well aware that we are almost halfway into February now and it seems kind-of silly to make a New Year’s resolution, but it’s never to late to make changes!  So here it is… I am officially going to be blogging  more portrait sessions this year, woohoo!  I know, I know, I’ve probably said this before and apologize greatly for my lack of follow through.  But with two high energy children (3 if you count Trig, hehe), two Trystan Photography studios, and the launch of my new business (www.lboudoir.com), the priorities just got a little out of whack.

I can’t guarantee they will not all come in batches of 3 or 4 during the busy months, but they will be blogged! All the family sessions, all the kids, all the seniors, everything!  For all of our loyal blog readers, who happen to be portrait clients too and are still waiting to read a blog about your session, I am so sorry for dropping the ball.  Guess that just means you’ll have to come back in, sooner than later, for another session *wink*!

With that said, meet the W Family and their adorable little Mr. A, whom just turned one. Mr. A is probably one of the happiest kids I have ever photographed!  I mean, look at that smile! Don’t you just want to eat him up? These photos were taken at the Butterfly Pavilion in Denver, which is such a great winter weather option for photos. The pavilion is perfect for kids and smaller family portrait sittings. Enjoy!

The Reyes Family (Colorado Springs Portrait Photographer)

Amanda, Lenee and Britney were so much fun, and you can totally tell from their session! Amanda wanted funky, graffiti wall type pictures and I think we did a good job making that happen! Britney didn’t want to let go of her Dora book, but that’s okay …  it captures the moment! Lenee is a beautiful young lady and was a great help with her little sister!

Thanks Amanda, for allowing me to photograph you and your beautiful girls!

The Shepherd Family (Colorado Springs Portrait Photographer)

Seeing these four together again brings such joy to my heart. Mark just got back from his third tour in Iraq. I am so happy (and relieved!) that he made it home safely… I photographed the Shepherds right before Mark left for Iraq and then again just now when he returned. It was a great pleasure to photograph them again… after that long year apart put behind them, them knowing their family will always be together from here on out!

And thank you to Mark… who has sacrificed so much to serve his country. To keep us safe… you are a true American hero and I feel honored to call you a friend!

Hickman-Riley Family Portraits (Colorado Springs Portrait Photographer)

Ariana, Eli and Jackson were so much fun to photograph… first we went to the flower gardens at MVP to take some nice pictures and then the kiddos changed into their favorite play clothes and we headed to the playground to get some pictures of them playing! Such a fun family! And get this… these three are the youngest of the 8 kids! Fun AND busy family!

Jerilyn and the family (Greenville/Dallas Family Portrait Photographer)

I did a favor for my good friend last week near Dallas, TX and while I was there I got to photograph this wonderful family! They live in a dinky little town (compared to Colorado Springs!) but my friend recommended this little church to do portraits at… and I am so glad she did! It was perfect! I wish we had something like that around here! Gorgeous family, gorgeous setting… what more could a photographer ask for!

35 weeks Colorado Springs Maternity

My good friend, Kim, is in the hospital right now waiting to deliver her baby girl. She’s only 35 weeks along so she’s on hospital bedrest to try and keep that little girl cookin’ for at least another week. We had her maternity pictures planned for this coming weekend but since she won’t be leaving the hospital anytime soon… we decided to do some maternity pictures in her room. Her doctors allowed her to be up for a while to do them and it was a lot of fun!

There’s nothing better than doing something you’ve never done before… experimenting and having fun!

Cannot wait for her little one to arrive! But hopefully it’s not for another week or two!
