Katy and Aaron are a romance long in the making. Even though they met young and had a long distance relationship in college, their love remained strong and they found themselves in the middle of a perfect sunset ceremony in June.
It’s really nice to see such hard work and loyalty pay off for couples: for both their relationship and their wedding! Although we had a flower issue for the guys, and the clouds were threatening all day, Katy and Aaron kept their eyes on the prize and simply enjoyed, no, were enthralled with each other.
There was also an uninvited wedding guest who ran across the fairway in front of the ceremony spot, much to many guests delight and my wife Charlotte’s absolute terror: a big ol’ bear decided to pay us a little visit. She didn’t interrupt things anymore during the ceremony, but afterwards she was definitely a factor in our photography. She decided to hunker down in the hillside 20 yards from the main spot we’re allowed access to at Arrowhead. So imagine me randomly yelling “hey bear!” and a small army of golf course personnel forming a ragtag human shield from any possible bear encounter from behind us. It was interesting to say the least!
The best part of the day was the photographic blessings Mother Nature bestowed upon us. The skies were afire, and so dramatic. It was a pleasure to capture these images for Katy and Aaron in such a breathtaking setting!
Thanks you two for choosing us as your wedding photographers. Your wedding was one for the ages and it was an honor to have this responsibility.
