My Awesome Seniors 2009!

So I’ve finally finished my last senior session for 2009 (I suppose there could be some last minuters) and have been going through the sessions to pick out my favs.  I’m going to blog a bigger post with more images here in a day or so, but thought I’d show you all, just how awesome my 2009 seniors were.  At some random point during their sessions this year, I would have them do a crazy jump for me.  Sometimes it really helps everyone to just loosen up and have some fun!  I was so honored this year to get some of the coolest high school seniors ever.  Stay tuned for more pics from these sessions, some of my favorite shots of all time. Enjoy this fun little slide show in the meantime!

Engagement Spotlight: Jamie and Joe at the Garden of the Gods

Just call me the “fiance whisperer”.

Joe is a cool guy. But like most male fiances, he wasn’t the most keen about gallivanting around some park playing kissy face with his girl in front of some other dude (me) whom he barely knows.

However, I am blessed with a unique set of skills that allow me to put most males at ease and can even bring out their fun, softer sides that they might only reserve for private moments with their fiance.

How do I do this? How do I overcome our natural male machismo and get guys to feel comfortable showing their more sensitive sides?

Can’t tell you: it’s a trade secret.

Actually, it’s almost always the guys that claim they don’t like photos that end up being the most natural and loving in front of the camera. It just takes some encouragement!

The First Year

It’s always such an honor to get to watch families grow.  A few years back Tryg and I shot Camille and Jacob’s wedding at the beautiful Hudson Gardens in Denver. Now, for the last year I’ve been photographing their darling little daughter Peyton.  Here’s a shot from each of her 4 sessions in her First Year Package and then a little slide show of some recent family photos we did.  Can’t wait to watch them add more cuties to their already gorgeous family!

And here’s a little slide show of some family photos we did too!

Gallery Spotlight: Terra and Daniel’s wedding at The Cliff House at Pikes Peak.

Please click the photo or follow the link to view Terra and Daniel’s gallery of their wedding at The Cliff House at Pikes Peak.

This one was a wintertime adventure, for sure. It was freezing for one, and poor Terra was sick. She’d fallen ill like the second she arrived in Colorado (from Texas). In fact, it was really cold for me and Charlotte, so all these Texans must have thought it was terrible. I was sure we were in for a really challenging day.

However, I was proven wrong, time and time again. Not only were the spirits of the entire family really, really high, but Terra was a dream bride. Her attitude was so great, even though you could tell she didn’t feel well. She even insisted we still shoot outdoors at the garden of the Gods regardless of the fact that it was freezing. And boy did it pay off! You see, the wonderful thing about photographs is the telltale hints of freezing cold: the breath, the wind, can all be minimized. I mean, obviously it looks cold in their photos, but it’s not nearly as cold looking as it actually was. And that’s due to how great their attitudes were. Daniel and Terra could have looked miserable in the photo above, but instead they’re beaming and joyful. What a blessing to have clients like we do!

Thank you so much for choosing Trystan Photography, Terra and Daniel. We had a blast at your wedding!
